Horse Holidays in Cumbria Activities

Walking
, climbing, mountaineering, road cycling, mountain biking, sailing, canoeing, kayaking - the list goes on! It's all here in the Scottish Borders and Cumbria. Great outdoor activities, in stunning scenery.

Walking

Cumbria and The Scottish Borders offer some of the most spectacular scenery in the country - from high Lakeland fells and the wilderness of the Northern Pennines to the rich farmland of the Eden Valley. Explore the Forests of Keilder and the rugged coastline of West Cumbria where the ghosts of long ago smugglers haunt the once-busy ports.

Alfred Wainrights beloved country is described in his famous books, walk The Cumbria Way, the Coast to Coast or just amble around the villages and maket towns.

And at the end of your walk where better than one of our cosy cottages or friendly B&Bs to put up ypur feet.

Cycling

This is a wonderful way to get around  and see the countryside if you don't have a four-legged friend to carry you - and not all the routes involve hilly country.

Fishing

If you love your fishing, then Cumbria is the place to be! The rivers, streams, lakes and tarns of the county offer a uniquely varied choice of freshwater fishing for coarse and game fish, in the most stunning scenery imaginable. Better still, many waters are lightly fished, lots of the fishing is free, and lots of what isn’t free can be accessed by visiting anglers on modestly priced day and weekly permits that are widely available. The coast, too, offers opportunities for sea fishing, in particular for bass and flatfish.
