Situated 3 miles north of Kirby Lonsdale it is handy enough to nip down for a pint or an evening meal in one of the many inns and restaurants in this pretty market town. Maggs Howe
Maggs Howe, a former working farm, is surrounded by land still farmed by my family. Detached, with a large garden and plenty of private parking spaces, Maggs Howe is on a hillside and has wonderful views of the Kentmere valley. People ask where the name Maggs came from; some former owner called Margaret?-maybe: the name is on the Title Deeds of 1623 and I have not been around that long.

Bailey Mill

William Wordsworth Trust, Dove Cottage Attraction
The Wordsworth Trust exists to be a living memorial to the life and poetry of William Wordsworth (right) and his contemporaries, serving, in the words of the first Trustees, 'lovers of English poetry from all over the world'. Its focus is Dove Cottage (below) and the hamlet of Town End, Grasmere, a place and a landscape at the centre of the English Lake District where the poet lived, wrote and found inspiration.
