Lyvennet cottages self-catering holidays lake district cumbria nestle in the small farming village of Kings Meaburn. We are 5 miles west of the old historic market town of Appleby-in-Westmorland and 10 miles south of Penrith. The village is ideal for an active outdoor or touring holiday, within easy reach of the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Hadrians Wall and the Scottish Borders.
We have four attractive cottages ( 3 to 4 star ETC rating) sleeping
from 2 -6 people. Cosy log fires in Winter. All fuel, power, bed linen
are inclusive of the price, also free fly fishing along our private
stretch of river. Children and pets are most welcome.
Lyvennet Stables are situated at Keld farm. We are a mixed farm of sheep, beef and a small dairy herd, farming over 300 acres 40 of which is woodland comprising of some magnificent mature oaks .
There is a bridleway on the doorstep of the stables, which leads you off to explore our beautiful Eden Valley. We have several bridleways and Trails in the area (Trail 14 British Horse Society Westmorland on Horseback) and quiet country lanes to discover at your leisure. After a hard days “hacking out” our local pub “The White Horse Inn” serves great country cooking and refreshing beer and ale.
We offer Full or DIY livery with turnout in our four loose boxes. Janet Addison currently taking British Horse Society exams has years of experience with horses and would be only to pleased to look after your horse during your stay. Accompanied rides can be arranged. Ample parking on site. If you prefer B&B accommodation that can be arranged, which would be a mile away from the stables in the next village of Morland.
