Situated at the south end of Lake Ullswater on the outskirts of Patterdale on the A592, Noran Bank Farm is a working hill farm with a hefted flock of Herdwick sheep and a small herd of Aberdeen Angus Cross cattle.
The Barker family have run a Bed & Breakfast business for many years, spanning three generations. The 17th Century farmhouse, dating back to 1617, still has the original oak beams and is suitably furnished to maintain the character of the house.
There are numerous bridleways in this area that are best suited for fell ponies and cob type horses because of the rough terrain. For the adventurous, there is a bridleway to the top of Helvellyn but the weather should be carefully considered and windy days avoided.
