Low Howgill Farm

 Harvest time at Low Howgill

Welcome to Low Howgill

Stay on a farm close to the foot of the northern Pennines, where you can ride along quiet country lanes and explore the fell-side villages. For the more adventurous the open fell is only 10 minutes away, where bridleways follow the packhorse routes from the old lead mines. Alternatively, hack around the farm for an hour, then your horse can relax in the field whilst you do your own thing! The cottage is set in natural woodland overlooking our lake where fishing is available and we will be delighted to show you round our 350 acre beef and sheep farm.

Ideally situated for visiting the Lake District, Hadrian's Wall and the Scottish Borders, nearer to hand visit the historic market town of Appleby-in-Westmorland.

Horse accommodation: 3 stables opposite the house and grazing. Hay and haylage available on site. Ample parking on-site.

Human accommodation: We can offer Bed & Breakfast in en-suite rooms in the farmhouse.
